Roxanne , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Sometimes it’s a little hard being the only one in the room that is like me or that looks like me but I always feel like when you walk into a room , be the best representation of yourself that you can be. You never know who’s watching & you always want to represent yourself & your brand in the best ways.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Roxanne Luciano, and i am a music artist. I don’t like to put myself in a specific category but I do love to try to find completely different ways that I do music. I believe the best thing about my career path is that it’s truly something that I love to do . My family has come from music so it was something that was just inevitable for me . I am working on a ton of new songs that are in all different genres which I’m very excited about & very thankful for everyone who been a part of this journey .
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In my opinion , three important qualities and skills would be , 1. be open to learning new things , creating new outlets.
2. Have patience, what happens for someone else may not happen for you in the time you’d like it to but that doesn’t mean anything… work on your own pace and worry about your own journey .
3. When you walk into a room , own it ! Be the absolute best you can because you are a representation of yourself as well as your brand. How one carries themselves matters !
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents are my world . My entire world and I honestly think the most impact ful thing they’ve ever done for me was simply give me the creativity and the freedom to be truly my best self . They never held me back from pursing my dreams and they have both always been the most supportive parents I could have ever asked for !
