We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sabine Henderson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sabine below.
Sabine, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
When I was at a very low moment and was getting evicted from my apartment, in LA, I saw a family standing outside of Ralph’s. I gave my last $5 dollars, to the family, and cried all way home. On the way home, made a promise to God and asked him to bless my business. I promised God that if he prospered the company, I would give back 10% to the homeless community. Thankfully, I have been able to keep my promise to date.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the proud founder of Sabine Jean, a product line created for people of color, and a Celebrity Image Consultant. I love making people look and feel beautiful, as well as feel beautiful in the skin they’re in. I am so excited to announce the launch of our Classic Collection, that is available for purchase @ sabinejean.com.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities and skills that were most impactful in my journey were patience, consistency, and my license in cosmetology. Patience and consistency are key! We can have all the talent in the world, but if we are not actively chasing our purpose we will not be fulfilled. When it seems like our talent is not working the way we think it should, we have to stay consistent with our purpose. Patience will also be your best friend, knowing that it will always work itself out in the end.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book “Chop Wood Carry Water” by Joshua Medccalf, has really helped me to stay the course. The best lesson I learned from this amazing book is that I am not responsible for the outcome, I am just responsible to do the work.
