Hi Samantha, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
We draw our strength from the women in our family. Our mother and grandmother instilled in us the importance of always seeking the positives in life. Although life presents challenges, it is important to avoid getting trapped in negativity and instead, to celebrate our victories.

Hello readers! My name is Samantha Miller and I am the Owner, Baker and Toffee Twins maker! I started this business about 10 years ago as a hobby with my twin sister. People quickly caught on to the delicious toffee treats I was creating and it just grew and grew. Owning a business is both daunting and exhilarating. As a hands-on, imaginative individual, crafting something from scratch is immensely fulfilling. I love coming up with new toffee flavors during specific seasons and holidays. Following Thanksgiving, I’ll be selling a White Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Peppermint Toffee.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Decades ago, had you told me I would own a toffee business, I would have laughed out loud. All I knew was that I loved to bake and wanted to share my passion with others. Starting and running a small business was a foreign concept, and I’m still figuring it out as I go. My best advice is to follow your heart and take chances. It may sound cliché, but pursuing what makes you happy is worth the risk. It’s better to try and possibly fail than to regret never pursuing your dreams later in life.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We welcome collaboration with all! Event planners would be ideal partners, as we specialize in party favors, weddings, corporate and custom gifts. Additionally, having our toffee available in cafes and coffee shops would be fantastic. Keep an eye out for us during the holidays too!
