Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sanjini Bhakta . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sanjini, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
When I was a kid growing up in Zimbabwe, I was very shy, introverted and a book worm. I was quiet in public but deep inside I always yearned to be an actress and to express myself. I excelled at school and was number one in all my classes – I was basically a nerd. I had inner confidence but not much outer confidence.
But when I came to the United States at sixteen years old to start college in Oklahoma, I started to find my true self, self expression and voice. The United States is a country that allows for freedom of self expression, communication, individuality and be accepted for whoever you are and to be your true self! Being at college at the University of Texas allowed me to explore my sexuality, self expression and individuality. I developed an incredible amount of self confidence (both inner and outer confidence) by having fun as a college student, making friends and expressing myself even though I was still extremely good at academia. I became an extreme extrovert and even sometimes a rebel.
Being in the United States allowed me to find my true self expression, my confidence, my love for socializing, communicating and my passion for acting, film and creativity. Whenever I walk into a room, I am not even aware that I am barely 5 foot tall or very petite. I have a big personality and I feel like I own the room. I am not shy and I found my true personality of being an extrovert! I also like being a BOSS and a leader. I produce, direct and hire people to work on my films.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actress, filmmaker, children’s book publisher and black belt martial artist. I also volunteer with Mother Teresa’s sisters and I train with Shaolin monks.
I have filmed comedies (Cyber Romance 1 & 2) an artistic film (Portrait of a Nude Art Model), a family film (Motel Patel) and an action film series (Eye of the Empress).
I have published 14 children’s books which are available on Amazon and Kindle. I have two books left to publish which are “The Unusual Pie” and “An Anthology of Poems and Essays.”
I have filmed 13 episodes of “Eye of the Empress.” I have 7 episodes left to film or 3 to 4 days of filming left. I am currently searching for a new handsome lead actor who fits these requirements:
Caucasian male
18 to 26 years old
Handsome, athletic, muscular
6’2 plus, 200 lbs plus
Blonde hair
Blue eyes
Clean cut (short hair) and clean shaven
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being a maverick, a high risk taker and having an imagination have been the most impactful qualities in my journey.
My advice is to follow your passion, dreams and inner calling and to not limit yourself by what family, friends and society expects from you. It is your life and you should live it to the fullest. My advice especially to women is to not keep blaming society, men and your circumstances – to not continue to create limitations for yourself by blaming men for your own shortcomings. No one is stopping you from creating your own projects, from telling your own stories, from producing, directing, using your imaginations and creativity and being BOLD and strong. There is no reason to compete with other women and to put them down or to be mean and spiteful to other women – focus on your own journey and be kind! Stop being a victim! Men are not blocking you or preventing you from your potential- only you are!!!
I say this because I have mostly worked with men all my life – my crew, actors and fighters have mostly been men and they respect me and treat me like the BOSS!!!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
