Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sarah Hafner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sarah , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
As a 37-year-old woman who has worked in the hospitality industry for 21 years and made the bold decision to move to the United States from Germany 8.5 years ago, resilience has been an integral part of my journey.
Throughout my career, I have faced numerous challenges and obstacles. The industry demands long hours, high-pressure situations, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. However, through it all, I have developed a deep sense of resilience that has allowed me to thrive.
Moving to a new country, leaving behind the familiar and starting from scratch, was undoubtedly a daunting experience. I had to navigate a different culture, language barriers, and establish a new network. It was not easy, but I approached it with unwavering determination and a positive mindset.
Resilience, to me, means embracing change and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. It means being adaptable and open-minded, constantly seeking new ways to improve and learn. I have always been willing to step out of my comfort zone, take risks, and push myself beyond what I thought was possible.
In the face of adversity, I have learned to stay focused on my goals and maintain a strong work ethic. I have had to overcome setbacks, rejections, and moments of self-doubt. But through it all, I have remained resilient, never losing sight of my passion for the hospitality industry and my desire to succeed.
Resilience has not only helped me overcome professional challenges but has also been crucial in my personal growth. It has allowed me to build an incredible support system, create a sense of belonging, and build a life, I can truly say I am proud of.
Stay tuned, because I know my resilience will take me further than I could have ever imagined.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Over the years I specialized in Food and Beverage Management in the luxury hotel segment, I just recently moved to Las Vegas to take my career to the next level. My love for creating memorable and individualized experiences is never ending and helped me connect with some of the most incredible people.
Not only am I thriving in the hotel and f&b world but have a deep passion for art and can proudly say that I started managing the incredibly talented BOURNRICH. An LA based contemporary fine artist and muralist. A new challenge I absolutely enjoy and looking forward what is to come in the near future.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
It is highly important that you have the specific knowledge of your craft, However, I personally find it crucial that you have the ability to stay true to yourself and in this way make connections that impact your life in the most positive way. Most importantly, patience is key. No one wants to hear it, including myself, but it proves every time that things will work out, as long as you work hard and stay patient and ready.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
As I am looking to expand my professional horizon, I am always looking t0 make true and meaningful connections with entrepreneurs and executives who have the ability to think outside the box.
