Meet Sarah T.G.

We recently connected with Sarah T.G. and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Sarah with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I’m a strong believer that a hard work ethic is learned, and therefore taught. My parents instilled the principle of hard work in me from an early age and I often went to work with them. Working hard is a choice and it’s one that artists and writers and makers have to make every moment of every day. Once you realize you have something special to offer the world it is often not enough without the will to work hard to have it seen.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
With my love of writing (and the special push of friends) I began a small card business not long ago. It was the simple thought of “how can I take my writing and turn it into a product to share it further?”

My aesthetic is one-of-a-kind. My cards are handmade; I cut and score the paper, I mark the measurements, and I hand-type every single one on a typewriter! My card line focuses on modern, raw prose and minimal design. Every one who has purchased a card – I know they truly “get it”. It’s a beautiful thing. Some people have commented that my writing is “too deep” and I take that as a compliment!

I’m currently in the process of relaunching the line and executing the vision I always saw for it!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Persistency! This is my greatest asset and my greatest advice. And I think it ties into the acceptance of failure. I believe in what I do and what I can offer and that keeps me going even when things are slow-moving and through all the people and places who aren’t interested in buying from me! Confidence in yourself and what you do is so important!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always looking to collaborate with other artists and makers! I bring the writing to the table and love “making a statement” in collaboration with others. I’d love to work with fine artists, graphic designers and clothing brands to create new pieces and statements!
