We recently connected with Schakara Arrazola-Tiscareno and have shared our conversation below.

Schakara, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
For me, when I experience or see the dark side of life such as the brutality, suffering, and hate in the world. I look for the unseen and small acts of care, love and sacrifice. Our thoughts create our reality, my mindset is hopeful and realistic. When faced with hardship, I truly believe I will prevail despite my current reality. May not be on my ideal timeline but there will be an opportunity to make things better. If I don’t have control of a situation, I know that I do have the choice to choose how to respond and handle any adversity I am facing.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been involved in the beauty industry since 2008. I am a Licensed Cosmetologist at Blended Barber & Beauty located in the Pueblo Mall. What I love about styling is the element of creative passion. I enjoy challenging myself with beauty and fashion trends. I take pride in keeping my skills up to date, while providing a great experience for my clients.

I love to get my hands on any kind of hair, I truly enjoy enhancing natural beauty.
If we haven’t met yet, I look forward to it! My creative energy and artistic approach fosters clients to express their authentic self through their appearance.

Some fun facts about me: When I am not doing hair, I loves spending time with my partner and son. I also enjoy cultivating fashion shows, energy work, and playing volleyball.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My advice is to invest in continuous education/advance trainings. I challenge other Stylist to expand their horizons outside of our stylist chair and everyday hair. I feel my talents and skills began to blossom and grow beyond measure when I stepped out side the Shop or Salon. I spent a good decade providing Hair, Makeup and Nails services for Editorial Shoots, Fashion Productions, Bridal Parties, Events, Hair Shows and Competitions. Opportunities like these provide a space without limitations, to truly let one’s creativity go wild. It is a high paced, energy packed environment full of artistic inspiration!

This Summer, will be Pueblo’s first Annual Hair & Fashion Show! Join me for the full experience of Beauty, Fun, Creativity, and Fashion.
