Meet Scott Eakins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Scott Eakins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Scott, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Being creative is a big part of who I am and inspire to be. Staying creative can be tough especially in your low points. In the past I pushed myself to create one art piece a day. Somedays it was a photograph, a drawing, digital design, or even sculpture. This brought stress at times but also brought me a lot of joy and often good results. It was the ritual of the daily creations that always had my mind spinning with new ideas and concepts. I continued to make these daily creations for about seven years creating over 2,500 different pieces of art. As my family grew and my career was taking off I decided to put the daily creations to rest. In the more recent years I try to stay creative by interacting on social media, sending ideas and projects around to friends. I also try to take time everyday to work on my current projects which can take demanding of creativity at times, trying to take a persons idea and give them something customized and unique.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I design and install vinyl graphics and wraps on well anything that will take a wrap. I do everything vinyl from the simplest decal to color changes to complex print or layered wraps. I try to provide a service that allows my clients to design and get custom graphics put on their vehicles. I like to make things custom so that your vehicle does not look like any other that exists. This is the best part of what I do, I get to make someone’s vehicle their own. Creating a one off vehicle brings my clients and myself a lot of pride and joy.

How would you describe your ideal client?
For me an open or creative client is most ideal. The more open they are the better the results. Don’t get me wrong I have no problem matching factory graphics or coping a kit if that is what is requested. It is the jobs that I get to be creative and show them some options of things we could do that turn out unique and head turning. I love it when a client comes to me with a theme or start of an idea that I get to take and fit to their vehicle and use my expertise to improve upon. Working out the details with the client until we have something that we are both happy with. When the designs get applied to the vehicle it is like it comes to life and its these custom jobs that people notice.
