Meet Seana Hurbace

Hi Seana , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Growing up I watched my Mom run her in home daycare and I helped any way I could from taking care of babies to changing diapers or playing with them. She paid me to help during breaks from school and after school. I learned that while it’s super hard work to run your own business it’s also super rewarding to be your own boss. While my office changes weekly and my “boss” changes weekly, I still have 100% control of the results I deliver. It really is living the dream.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a Wife and Mom of 4 basically grown humans and 4 fur babies. I thrive under pressure and challenge, and am constantly looking for new techniques to grow both the business and myself. I believe our next generation will learn by example and not words and live that in my daily life. Growing the business is my next priority. I would like to take on 1-2 more team members and double the work load weekly in order to be more efficient with our time and resources.
White Cliff Designs was born from the passion to keep busy, teach my at the time kids a trade, and show the world what true efficiency looks like. We have done well over 300 projects in the past 8 years and turn a kitchen in as little as 3 days. Now that my kids are grown they have taken over a lot of the manual labor portion of the job so my current focus is mostly getting the word out and quality control. Nathaniel graduated a year early and does most of the painting done in the shop while I still handle the in home refinishing. We are currently hiring and so excited to see where the next phase of our business develops. Most if not all of our business comes from word of mouth mostly on social media and simple neighbors talking to neighbors which is absolutely the highest compliment a business owner can receive in my humble opinion.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Always be willing to learn new things. Always continue to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Always grow and keep your eyes and ears open for new developments. Pushing yourself will only make you better, always try hard to be a little better than yesterday.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We are looking for investors and other contractors all the time as one of our newer projects is to start whole home renovations.
