We were lucky to catch up with Shadey Liadi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shadey, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I definitely developed my work ethic by watching my parents growing up. They both would always tell my brothers and myself that nothing is out of your reach. Put the work in and you will get what you want.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I started my journey as a fitness coach 6 yrs ago. Then added online coaching 1 1/2 ago. I’ve always been athletic and always wanted to help women some how. I was an HR Director for an autism center while coaching part time. I eventually left corporate to run my business/brand full time. I’ve learned in my 6 yrs of coaching that it’s not just the physical part of a healthy living that women need the most assistance. It’s mental and emotional as well. They all are in aligned. So my programs are made up to encourage women to focus on moving their body, nutrition, meditation, mental strength, and bettering emotions. I also specialize with women who have PCOS and are premenopausal and menopausal. I want every women to become the very best version of herself. Not what society says she should be. I want them to live a healthy lifestyle while juggling being a CEO, mom, wife, daughter, sister etc. You’re a women first so you have to take care of your overall wellbeing to take care of everything else.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First I must say I learned to surround myself with people who are smarter than me and who are stronger in areas of life that I’m not so I feel driven to be stronger. Having a strong sense of self and heavy prayer life so you know exactly what your purpose is and where you are going. My advice would be stay persistent and consistent. It’s the only way to be successful.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
These last 12 months have taught me to fully trust the process and myself. I’ve stopped overthinking probably by 70 percent still working but it was slowing me down and had me second guessing my ability. I’ve also learned to talk to myself with as much kindness and compassion that I do to everyone else.
