We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shane Doherty. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shane below.
Hi Shane , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I like to stand tall and keep all of my confidence. Even a few bad set backs can be making room for a big comeback. I like to look at things that way. Looking on to the future can help me stay positive I like it that way. When building something or fixing something I tell myself great job. I was not lucky doing that task I knew what I was doing. I always keep hope for the future even on a bad day I know there is tomorrow. The company I own has ups and downs, but looking onto the future keeps me going day by day. I build and make one of the best products on the market. I know this is true, and trust the process. My optimism comes from knowing what I have. I truly know my worth, and that comes from my upbringing and the loved ones around me.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I was laid off from a job for reasons of quality control, and prices. I worked my way up the ladder as you will. I was once mopping floors then on to production manager, and everything in between. When quality control, and pricing issues came up, so many times I needed to part ways. I was ready for a new beginning so I went out on my own. I want to build items that work properly so I can be part of the solution not the problem. This is our planet I will protect with the items I build by hand in the USA.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Networking critical thinking, problem solving, are most important to me. Effective skills to meet new people will help no matter what. Thinking outside the box or thinking dreaming , and looking forward will always work in a greater power. Fixing things and over coming a challenge, is what will keep someone moving forward. Persevering is something that will help anyone stand tall and move forward. The skills you learn in life will come in handy at random times so know to keep it simple and learn along the way.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I would be open to collaborate with any and all power companies , and engineers , or engineering firm.
