Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shante Griffen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Shante, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I was raised by a single mother, and I saw a woman who worked hard to make sure that I had everything i needed and wanted. She always told me that I could do anything in this world as long as I worked hard and put my mind to it. As I got older I always worked extremely hard whether it was school or work, and when I started my business I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I knew that working hard would help me continue to learn and grow my small business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the owner of Bre’s Unique Boutique within my boutique i sell handbags and accessories. I love love love that i started this business becasue I am a woman who cant always afford that expensive handbag, and i wanted to run a business where people of all walks of life can come and purchase an affordable handbag that they will love and cherish. I also wanted to offer other accessories that would make any outfit pop and be affordable. My biggest thing with my business is no matter what your style is Be Unique and Be You. We have some amazing New Arrivals we have added Concealed Carry handbags to our site. There are so many women carrying now so why not offer a stylish way to conceal your handgun. Also coming soon will be men’s accessories.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that helped me and still help me today are dedication, drive, and passion. These have helped me becasue even when I wasn’t getting any sales i continued to push and promote my business. Giving up was never an option. I knew that because my business was mainly online I had to get an online presence no matter how afraid i was of doing videos. I knew that I had to do pop up events so that people could see me and my products. The best advice I can give is to never give up, becasue it will get hard but nothing is easy in life so you have to continue to push and grow to help your business be a success. Always, Always, Always promote your business, dont worry about how many likes or comments just keep promoting.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m feeling overwhelmed I take a step back from what I am doing and relax. I take a few deep breaths to help clear my mind then i get refocused on the task and work to get it done. When I hit stumbling blocks I try to find easier and better solutions to help me with the problem. Sometimes you may have to reach out to a fellow business owners for help and thats ok to do.
