We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sharae Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sharae below.
Sharae, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Hello, I’m Sharae Moore, a professional truck driver and the founder of She Trucking Foundation, Inc. Resilience, for me, is a quality that’s deeply rooted in the unique path I’ve traveled and the mission that drives me.
I draw my resilience from the road, quite literally. Being a truck driver isn’t just a profession; it’s a lifestyle that demands grit, determination, and an unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency. The challenges I’ve encountered while navigating the highways and byways of this vast country have shaped my resilience in profound ways.
As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I’ve faced my fair share of obstacles. The skepticism, the stereotypes, and the occasional adversity I’ve encountered have only fueled my determination. I’ve learned that resilience isn’t just about weathering the storms; it’s about using those challenges as fuel to drive me forward.
But my resilience isn’t solely derived from my professional journey. It’s also rooted in my passion for empowering women in the trucking industry. Founding the She Trucking Foundation, Inc. was a dream born out of a desire to create opportunities and support for women who aspire to become truck drivers or excel in this field. Every day, I witness the incredible strength and determination of the women I work with, and their resilience inspires me to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
I’ve also learned that resilience isn’t just about enduring challenges; it’s about adaptability. The trucking industry is constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires a willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace change. This ability to pivot and grow has become a core part of my resilience.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For those early in their journey, find a cause or mission that truly resonates with you. Passion is a powerful motivator, and when you’re genuinely passionate about what you’re doing, it becomes easier to stay committed and overcome obstacles. Stay true to your vision and use your passion as your North Star. Attend industry events, join relevant online communities, and actively seek out opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals. Building genuine relationships is key; focus on how you can help and support others, and those connections will often become mutually beneficial.
