Meet Sharai Robbin

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sharai Robbin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Sharai, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Developing my confidence and self-esteem in both my personal and professional life came through my relationship with God. I didn’t start off in business, or even enter adulthood, with the confidence I have now. I often questioned myself, my worth, my talents, and my abilities, unsure if I was good enough. As a bigger girl, I felt constantly judged. I disliked the spotlight and, like many insecure girls, tended to shy away.

I let opportunities slip by, undervalued myself, and worked overtime for little reward. I knew something had to change, but I didn’t trust myself to make the best decisions in my life and business. Thankfully, I realized that I don’t have to rely solely on my own strengths.

After feeling overlooked or excluded one too many times, I decided to relinquish control and trust entirely in God.

When faced with challenges and seemingly no way out, I trusted God. When making tough decisions, I trusted God. This trust embodies a deep belief that I deserve all good things and that they will consistently come my way.

Now, when I doubt my abilities for a job or project, I trust that God will provide what I need to succeed.

Every day, I vocally remind myself of my trust in God, my deserving of good things, and my belief that these good things will occur for me and those close to me: my family and clients.

This daily affirmation is an exercise in faith, and the manifestation of this faith is the continuous occurrence of good things. That’s the source of my confidence – knowing, trusting, believing, and confessing that God has nothing but the best in store for me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I love love love what I do. At Good Ground Literary Services, my team of Literary BAEs (Bad Ass Editors) and I are all about igniting the writer within. We empower aspiring authors, entrepreneurs, and professionals to turn their unique ideas into published books that not only serve as powerful marketing tools but also become sources of passive income.

Our star attraction is the ‘Purposed and Published Author Coaching Program.’ This isn’t just any program; it’s a launchpad for success. We had a writer who, under our guidance, finished her book in a jaw-dropping 90 days and then doubled her clientele in her coaching business. That’s the kind of transformation we’re all about.

Our program covers every step of the book creation journey—from defining your book’s purpose and goals to nailing the concept, structure, writing, editing, design, and finally, the grand reveal – publishing and marketing. We specialize in crafting high-quality books that don’t just speak volumes but also amplify our authors’ authority and earning potential.

The magic of our process lies in three phases: Clarity, where we beat back the confusion that stalls most at the starting line; Structure, providing the much-needed order and organization for all those swirling ideas; and Support, because behind every great book is an even greater editor. Our authors receive tailored feedback and expert guidance from experienced book coaches and editors, resulting in a manuscript that powerfully conveys their message to their intended audience.

At Good Ground, we believe that “writing is bigger than books; it’s about the stories we share and the impact we have on the lives of others.”

And now, for some drum-roll-worthy news: We’re launching a membership option for the ‘Purposed and Published’ program, offering aspiring nonfiction authors a framework for writing their book within a supportive and engaging community. And for our fiction aficionados? Welcome to ‘Fiction Friday’ live workshops – a new safe haven for creative writing, skill-building, and unparalleled support.

These initiatives are more than just additions; they’re our commitment to nurturing a community of writers poised to turn their publishing dreams into reality.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three pivotal elements come to mind: faith, networking, and consistency.

Faith has been my cornerstone. For me, faith is all about trusting that everything is going to work out, even when the path gets rocky and you can’t see two feet in front of your face. It’s this faith that stops you from abandoning your book or business at the first sign of trouble. Faith is my anchor, keeping me steady when doubt and uncertainty come banging at the door.

Networking has also been a game-changer for me. In my first 10 months in business, I made $80,000, largely thanks to being in the right places and connecting with the right people. This is my own constant reminder of the power of networks. Who you know can, literally change your life. So, I urge everyone to not just recognize but actively engage in networking. It’s not just about meeting people; it’s about building relationships that can open doors you didn’t even know existed.

And then there’s consistency. This isn’t just about putting in the work; it’s about understanding that faith without work is dead. Even on days when my motivation meter is running low, I understand how crucial it is to still show up. My presence matters. Your presence matters. We need to be visible and vocal to inspire others and demonstrate what’s possible. It’s about showing up, not just for ourselves, but for those who draw inspiration from our journey.

To those starting out, my advice is this: Cultivate these three qualities. Nurture your faith, invest in your network, and commit to consistent action. These aren’t just skills; they’re the fuel for your journey to success.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client at Good Ground Literary Services is someone who shares my belief in the transformative power of stories and books. I often say that I serve God by serving people who serve Him. In essence, I love to help the helpers. These are often Type A personalities who excel in their field but find it challenging to translate their expertise into written words.

The perfect client for me understands their inherent value but needs assistance in showcasing it to the world through a book. They are teachable, open to constructive criticism, and fully grasp the significance of writing a book. These individuals aren’t just looking to establish themselves as authorities or subject matter experts; they’re driven by a desire to change lives.

I thrive on working with people who recognize the impact a well-crafted book can have – not just as a marketing tool or income stream, but as a means to inspire, educate, and influence others. My clients are passionate about their message and committed to the process, knowing that the journey of writing and publishing a book is as important as the final product.

Essentially, my ideal client is someone who’s ready to embark on a collaborative journey, willing to learn and grow, and eager to make a meaningful contribution to their readers’ lives.
