We were lucky to catch up with Shardai Thompson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Shardai, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
One of the ways I been able to keep my creativity is, I simply learn new things. Im always trying a new way to improve my skills/talents.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Shardai Thompson and I’m from Houston, Texas I’m a Interior Designer/Painter by trade and an artist by nature. When I’m not working on projects, I’m creating new ways to expand my business and services, or making canvas art using paint, resin and drywall. I have a real love for the tactility of visual beauty and I try to bring that specific effect to my work as well. I love what I do and I plan on expanding my craft further in the very near future. I’m currently launching a new website with updates to our brand, logo, products and services.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I believe that three of the most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey is Education, knowledge of the business, and learning all the details that makes me better in my career. These are essential keys to being a successful woman in business.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
The number one obstacle or challenge I’m currently facing is social media presence and promoting my business. I find it very difficult to keep up with the algorithm of social media, posting and certain times when having a full time job as well. What I’m doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge is be more active on social media, do paid app promotion and Ad’s
