We recently connected with Shauntelle Parham and have shared our conversation below.
Shauntelle, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I would say that my generosity comes from my passion for making spaces functional as well as beautiful. There have been numerous times where I have volunteered to help others because I truly enjoy what I do. As an example, when I worked in the medical field, I noticed that one of the physician offices could use a refresh in terms of styling so I offered to help them at no cost.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the owner and founder of Infinite Possibilities Home Organizing & Staging which is an award winning, Houston, TX based home staging company. We specialize in Vacant Home Staging, Decluttering & Home Organization, Redesign services, Short Term Rental Styling and Medical Office Styling. Our goal is to create beautiful interiors in addition to creating functional and practical spaces. What’s most exciting to me in this line of work is that it allows me to showcase my skills and contribute to the success of my clients! To create a space that feels comfortable, beautiful and brings peace to others is very rewarding.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
What has been most impactful in my journey is learning how to create a business profile, structuring a business plan, and applying specific strategies to obtain business credit as well as funding. This allows me to scale my business in ways that I’ve never have before. My advice to new business owners is to start with this and do not fund your business with your paycheck from your 9-5. It will be harder to grow.
In terms of home staging, I think the qualities that are foundational and have a significant impact on a home staging business are creativity & design sense, communication, and attention to detail. Creativity and design sense is crucial because you have to create a marketable environment that attracts the most potential buyers. Effective communication skills are essential for understanding your client’s needs and building relationships. And lastly, attention to detail is vital in home staging to ensure that the overall aesthetics are cohesive and visually pleasing.
How would you describe your ideal client?
Characteristics that would make someone an ideal client for me would include being open-minded, flexible, respectful, and communicative. Being open-minded allows for new ideas and perspectives. You have to trust the process! Flexibility means being willing to adjust plans as needed. I recently styled a short term rental where the dining room table that we ordered was delivered damaged. I had to improvise and find an alternative which actually worked out really well in the space! Respect fosters a positive working environment and being communicative is key. A client who is clear in expressing their needs and expectations helps ensure a smooth collaboration.
