Meet Shawnii Johnson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shawnii Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shawnii below.

Shawnii, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my determination to never give up, regardless of the struggles and challenges I face. I have the ability to overcome these obstacles and remain transparent about my journey and it has allowed me to maintain a strong foundation, like a glass house that stands even when stones are thrown. My mindset of continuous growth and embracing imperfections is a powerful tool in navigating through life’s ups and downs. My beliefs in P.U.S.H. pushing until something happens demonstrates my resilience and my ability to adapt and find solutions. It’s inspiring to see how I’ve always been able to figure things out and bounce back from whatever I’ve faced, without letting the struggles define me. I will keep embracing my resilience and use it as a source of strength in my journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Shante, here is where I introduce myself and share some exciting news about my career transition.

For over 13 years now, I have been actively working as a published model under the name Shawnii J. I am proud to have been featured in numerous magazines and have had the opportunity to share my story through interviews. If you’re interested, feel free to Google “Shawnii J” for more information on my modeling journey.

While modeling has been an incredible experience, I have recently decided to pursue a different path for my career. I am now embracing the role of a motivational speaker. My aim is to inspire and empower young women by sharing advice on overcoming life struggles and navigating challenges within the industry.

I firmly believe that my diverse experiences as a model, coupled with personal triumphs and setbacks, have equipped me with valuable insights that can benefit aspiring individuals in similar fields. Through motivational speaking engagements, I aspire to provide guidance and support for those seeking success in both personal and professional realms.

Should you or anyone you know be interested in booking me for speaking engagements or require further information about my background, please do not hesitate to reach out. I would be delighted to discuss potential collaborations or answer any queries you may have.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, I believe that resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning have been the most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge. My advice to individuals early in their journey is to focus on building resilience by embracing failures as learning opportunities, developing adaptability by being open to change, and prioritizing continuous learning through seeking new knowledge and skills to stay relevant and competitive in their chosen field.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Recognize your feelings, take a step back, and prioritize tasks. Break down tasks into smaller steps to make them more manageable. Practice mindfulness or deep breathing to reduce stress. Seek support from friends, family, or a professional if needed. Ensure to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.
