Meet Silvie

We recently connected with Silvie and have shared our conversation below.

Silvie, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I spent the majority of my life defaulting to a state of disappointment, and it wasn’t until I went through a divorce that I really started to see the world in a new way. I think experiencing something that I always considered the worst case scenario taught me that the hardest things often turn out for the best. It’s made it much easier to find the positive aspects of any situation.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN, making music under the artist name, Silvie. I’ve released a couple of EPs and am in the process of releasing a third one. My goal as an artist is to combine poetic lyrics with a soft-pop sound to hopefully remind listeners of our shared human experiences.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that have helped me the most in my journey are authenticity, consistency, and optimism. Since I first began releasing music, I’ve always tried to remain authentic to who I am as a person. I’ve also just consistently put out content, even if it’s not as often as I’d like all the time. And lastly, I have and will continue to stay optimistic that my art will reach the right people. My overall advice to anyone pursuing something creative is to keep doing the things you genuinely like doing and that feel like you!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
One of my good friends, Abbey Chiavario, has been hugely impactful in how I’ve viewed my own artistic career. She started and owns a coffee shop, and although that’s much different than music, her advice about how to create a career you love has been so helpful to me. She’s one of the people who’s taught me to take myself less seriously and just do the things I love doing.
