We were lucky to catch up with Skye Delamey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Skye, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from dedication to my craft, life purpose. It i essential and imperative for me to follow thru, show up, give it my all, and to keep my eye on the ball no matter what. I like to make lists, and check them of when completed. At a young age, I started and ran my own business, which helped me to maintain focus and discipline. To keep your business going, and thriving, work ethic means being a self starter. You must be internally driven to accomplish the goals you set out to do.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am working on the release of my 6th album, a rock album of original songs Also, in 2024 there will be many music performances. In addition, I have a two of online stores with new merchandise, a 2024 calendar, song lyrics inspired tshirt line, apparel, and much more. I also have a youtube channel with views in the many millions, containing latest music videos. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learning and developing as much as you can about your chosen craft. Stretching, enhancing, researching…. Being patient, knowing you’re in it for the long hau, so you might as well delve deep. That has been my experience. From performance training as a young child, to an advanced degree in acting from Loyola Marymount University as an adult…. I have spent a life time studying vocal training, acting, songwriting, performance training in it’s finest detail. Blocking, I have studied theater choreography, camera angles, lighting, sound, and the art of simple story telling using a song as medium the world can relate to,
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
I like “Outwitting the Devil,” by Napoleon Hill. I love the message of being self empowered, not giving in excuses of ANY kind, and not being limited by anything. I love that the book speaks to the reader in the perspective of the devil…encouraging the reader to not fall into negative patterns or traps that limit one’s potential.
