We were lucky to catch up with Stacey Andon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
A few years ago, someone at a networking event commented how happy I always am. That my life seems perfect and wonderful and we can’t all be like that. I took a deep breath when she said that because my life has been far from perfect– in fact, it has been laced with childhood trauma, sexual assault, divorce and a slew of other messy experiences that I have navigated through. My optimism doesn’t come from a place of just being positive through it all. It comes from the place of being true to my feelings and experiences which include feeling despair sometimes, feeling overwhelmed, feeling sad. True joy and trust in a world that wants to support you comes from a place of being willing to be comfortable when the darker thoughts and experiences arise as well. To hold all of it with love and compassion — without trying to be a problem that needs fixed is the way I nurture hope and faith in this world.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I love to do many things with clients including intuitive readings, 1:1 coaching, and group programs where women get to come together in open-hearted community. I love to help people remember how powerful their own inner wisdom and guidance systems are– and it doesn’t have to be complicated or tedious. We can connect to our souls in a way that also allows for practical human matters as well. Simple, easy and of course magical. I host a weekly podcast called Everyday Enchantment where I speak to topics ranging from navigating grief to making your next step easier to take. I also have a private, free Facebook group also titled Everyday Enchantment where the community comes together to use Love as a guiding force for making impact on this planet. Each one of us is here as a change agent– to transmute the world’s fear into love– and we need each person’s unique magic in order to help us all heal and expand.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful skills I have gained in my journey include curiosity, compassion and taking a pause as a beautiful way to create the next step forward in any situation. These three qualities help me navigate the most confusion and the most simple of life’s dilemma’s because when you are willing to take a breath and pause– there is a space to get compassionately curious about what is here. To expand your lens and perspective and see what else may be true besides our initial response.
The best way to do these things is to practice them. In each moment when you find yourself reacting, see if you can take a few minutes to pause. To let it be for a bit instead of letting your typical response take over. In those gaps, we can ask really good questions of ourselves and many times the answers we seek seem to come through with greater ease. An example of a question may be “what else is true besides what I see?”. It’s easy to judge ourselves and others as we live on this planet– and yet, the more we can notice our judgment and soften it, the more we can enhance the relationships with everyone around us.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Mother Nature has been the most influential thing in my life. When I have the biggest challenges or am looking to develop some new skill– I go to the woods and walk. I talk to the trees. I ask questions of the birds. I smile at the deer, the rabbits, the turtles and I find the best wisdom in that silence with all of Mother Nature around me.
There is a space to be exactly how you are– loved and trusted. There is no broken-ness in Mother Nature—only spaces to heal and be present.
And in those spaces, I grow the most. I find truths and answers that guide my next step– that challenge me to stretch a bit further.
