We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Steffany Ayala a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Steffany , so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self care is an important factor for how I function in my personal and career life. I multitask on my day to day and definitely spending time to debrief on my day it helps me to prepare for the next day. A few of the activities that are always good as an entrepreneur and that I practice are to pause, prepare and act. I used these three as follow, I pause by spending time alone, either at a workout class, or booking a hotel or doing an activity that would help me to recharge again.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Life keeps changing, and what’s new? As an entrepreneur I have learn that our everyday is a day of innovation. Our minds are always running and planning what next. This can either be on how we growth our actual business or how we innovate a new business.
In my journey, I have seen a lot of growth, I currently run three businesses that I love deeper. SFinance is my first business that I developed with the mission on helping nonprofits and for profits to maintain a healthy financial structure. Through the pandemic I had the opportunity to rebrand this business due to the needs that a lot of businesses need to have a financial structure in order to applied for financial support. I always recommend that if you have a business, you must have a financial structure, because it is a core for how your business will run.
My second business is The Flower Patch, an online flower business that provides floral services to weddings, corporate events or any other special events. This business keeps blooming and showing more innovations and opportunities that I have allow me to develop the reason why this business exists. The flowers not only brings a creative source of income, but in the near future the goal is to provide an opportunity for women, specifically in women shelter’s to learn a new skill and find jobs in the industry of flowers.
My third business is The Cedar Way Cabin. An Airbnb that is located in Crestline, CA. This cabin is a place, where I find the opportunity to debrief when I need to pause from all the busyness. The goal for this is not to only have a place to pause, but to give the opportunity to other people to find a place that they can feel peaceful and restful. I definitely would always recommend real estate as an investment.
New innovations are in process which I am excited to share. I have the opportunity to have a core of women that are in the same journey and we are planning to start developing an online consultation for new young entrepreneurs that are starting a business. We believe that with our expertise, and experience we can help anyone to achieve their goals in the next phase of their business.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that have help me to achieve my goals are to have clarity vision, strong communication skills, and willingness to fail. Each of them, have been part of my journey as an entrepreneur. I have learned to clarify my goal, by writing what my vision is for everything I do. Communication is strong skill set, that I feel I have learned to manage through out my experience. Communicating what you’re passionate in your business is really important, because you want your audience to know about your business. Willingness to fail is another one, that I strongly agree. Not everything is perfect, I always say that we learn from every mistake we make, we learn from every failure we experience, we learn to take the risk to make our next move. Is totally ok to feel fear, but what’s not ok is to allow fear to lead your journey.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest are of growth has been to maintain my passion. This not only involves my personal life, but my career. I can shared that I have had the opportunity to wake up every morning, and learn to love how my day will run. I believe that we have the power to lead how we want our day to run. In my case I want my passion for all the things I run to always be bright.
