Meet Stephanie Leininger

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Stephanie Leininger a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My parents.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
For my company, Botanica Floristry, I grow flowers for my clients, source primarily American grown flowers from phenomenal flower farmers. I create a safe space of intention and creativity for my wedding couples as we work as a team to bring their vision to life through flowers. I’m foremost a student of Mother Nature, creativity and how best to serve my clientele. What’s most exciting is I get to live my passion in my way. With setting boundaries for the amount of work I take on each year to support my business and family. The boundaries also allow me to be fully present with each couple and client.
My love and passion is sincere. What you see on my website or any social media is exactly who I am and what I am creating with Botanica Floristry.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Constant Learning – not only in the field of floristry. Also business, money, self awareness, and my everyday surroundings. 2. Compassion and Grace – most of my clients have never taken on the job of wedding planning for their big day. Realizing that when something becomes intense or critical, to stay calm and work with them instead of getting upset. It’s not personal, they are looking for support in all ways they can without even knowing it.
3. Communication – Having this be my number one for all things I do with my clients. It doesn’t have to be constant. Keeping them in the know and responding within 24 hours whenever possible is a must for them to feel seen and supported.

Best way to develop or improve – baby steps and frustratingly enough patience. Remembering this is a marathon and not a sprint. Not everything has to be done in a day. Chip away at how you can improve and the above three and in time it all makes a huge difference.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Hands down my therapist and husband. I’ve been working with a therapist for the past few years and she has really had me to do the deep work that has helped me breakthrough a lot to make my business what it is today. Working on anxiety, imposter syndrome, clarity, being an artist and of course working through my past to be better in the present. Oh my husband, Bryan. His patience, support and love for me and what I’m working to create pushes me through the days when I don’t remember my Why.
