We were lucky to catch up with Sunny Moza recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sunny, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Imposter syndrome, coupled with the Dunning-Kruger Effect, can certainly contribute to self-doubt. As someone who works in live events where improvisation is necessary, I understand the constant uncertainty that comes with the territory. However, I have developed strategies to overcome my self-doubt and thrive in such situations.
First and foremost, I attribute my success to a higher power. Trusting in something beyond myself gives me the reassurance that I am capable and that things will work out. This belief helps to alleviate my anxiety and boosts my confidence.
Moreover, I remind myself of my past achievements and successes. Reflecting on previous accomplishments serves as evidence that I have the skills and abilities to handle challenging situations. This self-affirmation reinforces the belief that I can handle whatever comes my way.
Additionally, I maintain a positive mindset by accepting that even if things don’t go as planned, there is always an opportunity to learn and grow from the experience. Embracing the notion that failure is not an indicator of incompetence, but rather a stepping stone towards improvement, allows me to approach setbacks with resilience and optimism.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Humility, Humor, and Faith are the three qualities that can greatly impact your journey.
Humility: It involves acknowledging strengths and weaknesses, seeking feedback, and embracing new perspectives. It also ensures that you don’t become too full of yourself when praise starts coming your way.
Humor: Bringing smile to others is an underrated superpower. It helps maintain a positive outlook, alleviates stress, and builds lasting impressions. As Maya Angelou once said “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Faith: Having faith in the higher power provides motivation, a sense of purpose, and the ability to persevere in challenging times.
These qualities contribute to personal and professional growth, enabling individuals to navigate their journey with grace, positivity, and strength. Embrace humility by listening and learning from others, develop a sense of humor that comes naturally to you, and nurture faith by having an internal value system.
