My creativity remains vibrant through resilience, resourcefulness, and a commitment to transforming adversity into art. Drawing from personal experiences, channeling emotions into storytelling, and evolving as both an author and publisher are key aspects of my creative process. Embracing life’s challenges as inspiration, I use writing not just as a means of expression, but as a transformative tool to inspire, provoke thought, and ultimately change lives.

I am a visionary author and independent publisher. who has carved my own path in the world of literature. What sets me apart is not just my storytelling, but the resilience and determination I put into every word I write.
My journey started in the city of New Rochelle, New York. My literary career took an extraordinary turn when I penned my debut book, “A Drug Dealer’s Dream,” and self-published it while incarcerated.
In 2014, I started an independent publishing company, KING PUBLISHING GROUP (KPG), supporting talented authors while solidifying my position in the industry. My dedication earned us consecutive nominations for Best Independent Publisher, showcasing the commitment to excellence and innovation.
Right now, I’m preparing for my latest venture: the release of a thrilling new series, “The Illuminated Order: Secrets of Power in America,” set to drop this summer. It’s an electrifying journey into the hidden depths of power and intrigue.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that stand out as most impactful are:
1. **Resilience:** Throughout my journey, resilience has been essential in overcoming challenges and setbacks. It’s the ability to bounce back from adversity, to keep pushing forward even when faced with obstacles. Developing resilience involves maintaining a positive mindset, practicing self-care, and seeking support from others. Embracing failure as a learning opportunity rather than a defeat is key to building resilience.
2. **Creativity:** Creativity fuels innovation and sets one apart in any field. Whether it’s crafting compelling narratives, devising unique marketing strategies, or solving problems in unconventional ways, creativity is a valuable asset. To foster creativity, embrace curiosity, explore new ideas, and expose yourself to diverse experiences. Keep a journal, engage in brainstorming sessions, and collaborate with others to spark inspiration.
3. **Adaptability:** The landscape of the publishing industry, like many industries, is constantly evolving. Being adaptable and open to change is crucial for staying relevant and thriving in the long run. This involves being willing to learn new skills, embrace emerging technologies, and pivot when necessary. Stay informed about industry trends, seek out professional development opportunities, and be willing to step out of your comfort zone.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to focus on developing these three qualities:

The number one obstacle I currently face is building a new readership after a hiatus. To overcome this challenge, I’m implementing a multi-faceted approach:
1. **Re-engagement Campaign:** I’m reaching out to my existing fan base through email newsletters, social media platforms, and other channels to reignite their interest and keep them updated on my latest projects. Personalized messages, exclusive sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes content help create a sense of connection and loyalty among readers.
2. **Content Marketing:** I’m leveraging content marketing strategies to generate buzz and attract new readers. This includes blogging, guest blogging on relevant platforms, podcast appearances, and creating engaging video content. By sharing valuable insights, storytelling tips, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into my writing process, I aim to attract and engage a wider audience.
3. **Partnerships and Collaborations:** I’m seeking opportunities to collaborate with influencers, book bloggers, and fellow authors to expand my reach and tap into their established audiences. Cross-promotional efforts, joint giveaways, and co-hosted events help amplify my message and introduce my work to new readers who share similar interests.
4. **Book Launch Strategy:** With the upcoming release of my new thriller series, “The Illuminated Order: Secrets of Power in America,” I’m developing a comprehensive book launch strategy to generate excitement and maximize visibility. This includes pre-launch promotions, targeted advertising campaigns, and strategic outreach to book reviewers and media outlets.
5. **Community Building:** I’m actively engaging with online communities and forums where my target audience congregates, participating in discussions, offering valuable insights, and building genuine connections. By becoming a trusted member of these communities, I aim to organically attract readers who resonate with my writing style and genre preferences.
By implementing these strategies and staying consistent in my efforts, I’m confident that I can overcome the challenge of building a new readership after a hiatus and reconnect with existing fans while also reaching new audiences eager to embark on a thrilling literary journey with me.
