We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tabitha Gazelle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tabitha, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Going to art museums, events, research on my favorite site Pinterest and being around those who are creative like me
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a seamstress that’s created her own lane with fashion and entertainment. I started off as a model but my love for clothing took over. Created my clothing line called Tabitha Gazelle to having my very own festival called Afro Fashion Festival presented by TG really put me in a position to help others, giving them a platform to showcase their creativity. The festival took place on June 23rd-25th 2023. A 3day weekend giving models, designers, photographers and the beauty industry a place meet and network or possibly work together in the future. Now “Tabitha” Gazelle LLC, this comes from Acts 9:36-42 which explains how her touched so many people by her marvelous designs. My mitts states I WILL TOUCH 1B or MORE and that’s my GOAL with GOD as the head of everything.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back all these years, I’m still learning and that’s the crazy part. You would think out of ten your of sewing I will know everything but I DoNt but I can tell you want you need to know the basics to creating beautiful pieces. The qualities you will need to learn your customer, have a listening ear and knowing what’s comfortable for them. You have to be honest with your customers tell them straight forward because they will Be representing you. The advice I can give is be YOU and honest about your passion. You can’t go in thinking it’s a piece of cake not knowing it’s layers to baking one.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes collaborating with other creatives as myself is the #1 thing in my goal book‼️ Designers, painters, musicians etc this can go on and on. My ideas comes from what I see and feel. I’m definitely open to new ideas and out the box fashion that’s definitely a major plus. I’m Wanting to explore other side of my designs
