Meet Tamara Bakir

We recently connected with Tamara Bakir and have shared our conversation below.

Tamara, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I was in the real estate world for ten years before starting Manifest Beauty. I was burned out and uninspired yet I didn’t know what I wanted to do next or how to find my true purpose. I always had a passion for makeup and wanted to inspire women but never new how to transduce that into a business. I went to my first Dr Joe Dispenza retreat back in May 2021. I was deep in meditation when I suddenly had a vision of my future. I was standing in my dream home with my family and there were these ‘Manifest Beauty’ products all around me. It was so emotional- tears of joy were streaming down my face- I just knew that was my true passion. I literally worked backwards from that vision- taking courses in EVERYTHING- entrepreneurship, PR, marketing, supply chain, formulation- I attended every trade show and tapped into as many mentors who would give me their time…and it worked- in only one year of full operation we have really grown so fast and had huge achievements. My journey continues to show me every day that if you lead your life with your heart- it will never let you down…

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I live and breathe the “manifestation” side of my brand. I truly believe that everything you want in life happens when you walk the line between intention and allowing. I’ve always been fascinated by mindfulness, human potential, and the science of the law of attraction. I meditate everyday and have seen miracles occur in my life and my business by this practice- it has sharpened my intuition and I’ve really manifested some crazy things by tapping into this. My mantra at Manifest Beauty is that “true beauty is energy”- It’s not your weight, your skin tone, your age or any of those surface level attributes. A women’s true beauty shines when she is self-assured, in love with herself and her life and believes in her own potential. My mission with this brand is to cultivate our community to feel as good on the inside as they look on the outside- because that is how we “attract it all”- and that defines ‘magnetism’ and ‘attraction’. Redefining beauty is a huge mission for us, it’s really an inside/outside job. I am also really passionate about giving back. Philanthropy is a pillar of our manifesto. We currently work with two organizations that I feel passionate about- the Give to Give Foundarion that provides scholarships to people with health conditions to attend Dr Joe Dispenza retreats; and Look Good Feel Better an organization that empowers individuals going through cancer treatment through beauty workshops. I am excited by the notion that the bigger we grow the more we will give.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For me the three qualities of success are consistency, passion and curiosity. All three are essential. Personally, when I feel off-balance in one of these- everything is off balance. Passion is the driver when things are hard- it’s always the wind beneath your sails when you’re challenged, burnt out or in the midst of a problem; remembering the “why”. Never overestimate the power of consistency and discipline- it’s the daily habits and practices that compound to propel you forward. The concept of “overnight success’ doesn’t exist. It’s looks like that from the outside but the reality is – that one social media post is the one that goes viral, or that one email you sent to a retailer is the one that lands the meeting- but it’s the 100 actions that came before it through determination and consistency that compounds for that moment to happen. Finally curiosity- it’s always about evolution and growth- learning new skills, learning trends, finding ways to look at a makeup product through the eyes of a fresh lens. The constant curiosity becomes creativity – and innovation comes from this relentless passion for greatness and doing something that has never been done before- then bringing that to the customer.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Since we are only 15 months old, the answer is EVERYTHING!!! For me the best part has been creating systems and finding our groove as a company- in terms of product development, operations and most importantly our company culture. I feel like we went through the common challenge in the beginning of retaining agencies that promised the world and delivered ZERO. I’m proud to say that I finally feel like I’m in a place where I trust my intuition and I trust my team and that feels really really good. A company is like a house of cards- a strong foundation is everything and having the best people around you and an unwavering mission can survive any storm- in start ups theres a lot of those haha.
