Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tasha Devoe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tasha, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I was raised in the church. Yet after losing both my grandparents one to cancer and the other dementia it left me to feel lost and at times defeated. I made a commitment to myself to overcome my circumstances and get healthy in 2017. It was the best choice I could’ve ever made not that I hadn’t ever joined workout programs before but because this time I gave my YES! During my weight loss journey my world changed once again. What should’ve been an annual check up to my doctor and prescription for sinus medicine turned into something greater. The dreaded call from the doctor to say we need you to come in…a carcinoid tumor was found and my 32nd birthday was around the corner.
Fast forward my doctor and staff at MUSC Charleston were amazing. I am cancer free and no treatments were needed but mentally I was once again a wreck. I rejoiced to have more time with my daughter but the defeat felt when I tried to do things I once was able to complete with ease was heavy. It was then that self discovery and healing began. It was in this journey that I found my purpose. Losing weight allowed me to know when something wasn’t right with my body. Overcoming mental challenges and being disciplined opened my eyes that EVERY woman especially deserved to feel confident when they look at their reflection. To walk in any room and own it. As I changed my body I realized that I didn’t know I was lost within. I was looking at what was in front of me and not what I deserved.
So I created a fitness program that only requires 30 minutes of time and that can be done at home. So for my busy moms or career driven women with limited time they now have a personal trainer on the go. I’ve now impacted hundreds of women through my training classes and thousands through education.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Faith, perseverance, and a determination to help my clients achieve their goals. My advice is never compare yourself to someone else. Don’t minimize yourself. Stand boldly on your worth and trust that when God gives you a gift He will allow it to make room for you.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is the person who is ready to give their yes even through uncertainty. That woman who has continued to put herself last on the to do list is the woman I am here to serve and help overcome obstacles and knock out her goals.
