We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tequila Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tequila below.
Hi Tequila, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed my confidence at a very young age but as I grew older, I found my true confidence. I always wanted to be the kind of person that felt good “naked” (not literally) but the kind of naked that a person is wowed by. I wanted to walk in a room quietly and let my presence speak for itself without saying a word. In high school I chopped my hair off and that made me feel a bit freer in being who I am. In reality being that my name is Tequila and there was always a joke coming after introducing myself I’ve always had to have a comeback and stand firm in me loving my name. I’ve always thought I was unique, and the name Tequila was made perfectly for me.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, my name is Tequila, I am a professional makeup artist for over 13 years. I was born in Saint Louis, Mo but raised most of my life in Madison, Al. I relocated to Alpharetta, Ga 3 years ago to expand my makeup career. I chose Georgia because it has a great unique and very diverse culture. My main focus is to grow my career in the film/tv industry.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three most impactful qualities in my journey were learning how to be an educator, learning how to lead a team, and building relationships.
If you are just starting out, I would say, make sure to build relationships, stay consistent, never stop learning, and don’t be afraid to mess up every once in a while.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who likes to go outside the box every now and then with their makeup looks, always down to learn something new, and wears every look with full confidence.
