Meet Thomas Regular Jr.

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Thomas Regular Jr. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Thomas below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Thomas with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I would have to accredit my work ethic to my parents. They gave a great example of how to put the best foot forward and work hard at whatever it is I am doing.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am currently a barber instructor at Gwinnett Technical College. I have been in my position for five years. I have been a licensed barber for over 10 years. Barbering for me started back when i was on campus at FAMU. I found a love for the hair industry after having a few bad experiences my self so i decided to be the change I thought the industry needed. While on this journey to change the barber industry I stumbled across a camera trying to get better images to display my work. This eventually led me to exploring the world of photography. Its hard to put into words the feeling i get after sharing the memories i’ve captured with whomever the subject was . My aim is to tell stories with the photos i take and to give the client art worth printing.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back at it I would have to say the three qualities/ skills that were the most impactful in my journey were consistency, work ethic, and customer service. Understanding these three things in my opinion will help anyone on whatever journey they may be on. In Barbering and photography you don’t pick up on things right away but, if you apply a strong work ethic towards it you will get better at it. After you’ve mastered it, then the consistency kicks in. Being able to reproduce the thing that keeps the customer happy over and aver again. Doing those two things will insure that your always putting the customer first and providing great customer service.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
There are multiple people that are extremely helpful when it comes to overcoming challenges. They are ; LaChrisha R. (wife), Shirley R. (mother), Thomas Sr. (father) Andre A. (brother). Without these people i more than likely wouldn’t be where i am today.
