Meet Tieranee “Melo” Wilson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tieranee “Melo” Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tieranee “Melo”, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
It took me 25 years to truly feel secure within myself and not allow my insecurities, fear and self-doubt to continue to keep me stagnant. I had to basically succumb to my own self-sabotage, self-inflicted wounds and was beyond tired of being a victim, so i made the decision to no longer perpetuate the same narrative(s) in my life. It took many failed relationships, multiple failed su*cide attempts, years of cognitive behavioral therapy and years of deep diving into the depths of the darkest parts of my soul, shadow work, repetitive ego-deaths and just a lot of indescribable inner work to get to this place of harmony. Once I realized who I truly was, it became easier to accept and love myself in my entirety. The journey has definitely been strenuous and still is from time to time, but I am worthy of all the hassle.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
So I am a full time Healer Practitioner, Entrepreneur, Artist, and Activist. I make waistbeads, bracelets and anklets. I bless them, pray over them, charge them in the Sun and moonlight & I make my adornments with the intent of spiritual protection & using resources from the Earth (crystal beads) to assist in healing the body. I am an Intuitive Oracle Reader and I assist folks during their journey of enlightenment through Shadow Work, offering services such as; Oracle readings, Reiki-Crystal Healing, Auric-field Cleansing, and Spiritual Advisory. I am a Fashion Enthusiast, having a deep love for curating looks since the age of 9. I have been styling and designing my clothes for years, which has led to me now owning a vintage clothing & accessory re-sell commerce. I am a model, I started with doing pageants at 5, my first music video at 16 & runway and editorial style shoots once I was 18. I am a Sensual Yoga Instructor, combining my passion for dance, primal movements, and the need to express my sensuality into a class with the intent of assisting other women in tuning into their femininity and sacred energy. I am an activist, starting out independently volunteering throughout the city of Memphis and eventually finding my way to organizations my personal missions fell in alignment with such as Memphis Community Against Pollution & Protect Our Aquifer, which I am now currently serving the position as Water-Fellow for. Lastly, I am a poet, dancer, creative director & photojournalist. Each one of my crafts have their seasons when they are needed from me most, so I just go with the flow of Spirit and give myself to whichever one I am called to devote more of my energy to during that season.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say three vital gems that have assisted me is: 1) Let go and allow things be. Holding onto things that are no longer serving you, no matter what it is, can create blockages and delay what is truly in alignment with you. There is no need to create further disharmony in life. 2) Be Grateful. I’ve realized that being grateful, combined with the action of expressing gratitude is the key to abundance. Abundance in love, in support, generosity, health & wealth. 3) Be authentically & unapologetically yourself. On my journey, I’ve realized that just by showing up as myself, I magnetize people, places and opportunities that are aligned with me. The hard part about showing up 100% as yourself is; most of us start out not even knowing who we are, so journeying through life to figuring out who are, accepting ourselves fully, loving and integrating all parts of ourselves and lastly, feeling proud, confident, and safe enough, makes it less difficult to show up in the world in our entirety.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes I am. I am looking for like-minded & like-hearted people who share the same mission of wanting to be the change that they seek. People who are pro-active and reliable and share some of the same interests and passions as me. I am also open to people who believe in my many visions and genuinely desire to support my business endeavors or independent projections, with financial investments/grants.
