Meet Tiffany Baymon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Baymon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tiffany, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my family and friends and their continued to support and belief to make my dream come true.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an R&B artist from Chicago. I take musical elements from the 90s and today to tell stories of love, heartbreak, triumph, and overall feel good records.

What feels special about making music in general is the creative process and hard work it takes to make a record. The final product makes the long studio sessions worth it, to know I left my feelings on the record and allowed myself to be vulnerable through creativity is a wonderful feeling.

While I am still finding my space and voice in this industry, I am nominated for the Female R&B Artist of the Year award in the city of Chicago. I can see my hard work paying off.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three areas of knowledge that are most impactful for me are

1. Stay consistent
2. Stay motivated
3. Stay humble

The advice I have for people early in their journey of how they can develop and improve in these areas is by keeping individuals around that keep you grounded and overall care about your well-being as a person.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
The challenge I am currently facing is wearing many hats as an independent artist. Because I don’t have a label backing I have to do everything myself.
