Meet Tiffany Cade

We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Cade recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tiffany , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
It is never smooth sailing for an artists’ journey. Creativity is one of the most important assets when it comes to an artist and how I keep my creativity alive is to keep practicing my art. I create at least once a day whether that is painting, drawing digitally, tufting a rug, or creating armatures for a new clay piece. By continuing to create, I create muscle memory and lubricate my imagination. I believe creativity is always with an experienced artist but the motivation to carry out those ideas is something that can be a struggle. Actually it could also be vice versa; an artist could have all the motivation but no creativity. To keep the creativity alive, I’m always looking for inspiration whether it be on pinterest, youtube, or just a look out of my window. Art usually is based on something that already exists in the real world so having an inspiration will always drive that creativity out of you.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hello, my name is Tiffany Cade and I am 22 years old. I can definitely say I’ve been studying art for about 18 years. I am a proud owner of my business, Creatiff Empire! A retail shop where I merchandise and manufacture my own products; whether it be an oil or acrylic painting, a tufted rug, a polymer clay sculpture, or digital art. I also own Creatiff Comics which is where my comic artist talent falls under. I currently have a comic out called “The Weird Life of Shannon.” The Weird Life of Shannon has always been with me since I was 14 years old. I would jot down ideas for different stories, draw my original characters with more popularized characters, and create short comics. After 8 years of having my original characters, to have my own comic published inspires me to continue creating more. I will be selling my comics at a Kingdom Expansion Concert coming up on Febuary 24th, 2024 where I will have my collection of oil paintings titled, “God’s Creations.” I will also have my comics titled, “The Weird Life of Shannon” as well. The feeling I will have when I finally sell at my first event will be beyond me. Thank you God for giving me this joyous opportunity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I believe my best three areas of knowledge that were most impactful on my journey and still are is: the knowledge of my savior Jesus Christ, knowledge of digital art, and knowledge of traditional art. I say the knowledge of the Lord because he gave me the mind to understand what I know now and he blessed me with the talent of art. I’ve always received prophecies that the Lord had something big for me and I believe it til this day. I work hard toward my future and I know the Lord is with me. Digital art has been impactful for me because I believe it opened my eyes to a lot more opportunities and it paved the way for my Creatiff Comics journey. My comic, “The Weird of Shannon”, was always drawn traditionally but once the idea to draw Shannon digitally hit me, God immediately provided me with the funds to get the supplies I needed. I was able to purchase an Ipad Air and Pencil and get to work. In college I enrolled into a graphic novel class and I believe it helped me stabilize my digital art and comic skills even more. Traditional art was also very impactful to my journey because it was the fundamental for me. I was able to study figure drawing, oil painting and acrylic painting in college and those skills that I learned definitely stick with me even today. I use them in every art project I start and it truly pays off.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking to collaborate and partner with Jeff Kinney, the creator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He is one of my inspirations and I own every one of his books. The way he built the Diary of a Wimpy kid is something I truly want for myself when it comes to my characters. I feel as though he could lead me on the right path in the industry and I would love to get his advice on “The Weird Life of Shannon.” If I were to partner and collaborate with anyone for the first time, I would want people that would lead me in the right direction and show me things that I didn’t know before. While I know I would have my talents to contribute to the partnership, I would want their wisdom of the industry in return.
