Meet Tk Gorgonia

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tk Gorgonia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Tk, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I believe it may have originated from being surrounded by so much negativity. I tend to go against the grain when I can, and I think sometimes it’s easier to be pessimistic in tough situations. So my tendency is to push myself to see the bright side of things.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Currently I am the CEO & Founder of a new video game company!

My main focus right now is to provide opportunities for people to grow and establish their skills in the game and entertainment industry, while helping to improve the social norms of what it means to work in this field.

We want to have fun making quality games, share the stories we want to tell, and provide a holistic support to our devs and communities. Meaning physical, mental, and financial stability for long term growth.

Our first game is called Get Slapped!™ which is a slap-stick action comedy arena fighting game where players will get to experience an expanding narrative, face a roster of fighters. and compete to be the first slap champion across the multi-slap dimensions!

Currently we’re starting to grow our following, and have been accepted by three game dev programs, including being available to now wishlist on Steam!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities or skills I’m reflecting on are: empathy, flexibility, and positivity.

My empathy comes from putting in the effort to truly understand what someone is going through. Thinking about treating others how I want to be treated, and listening to the needs of others before my own.

Flexibility has developed from not being afraid to make many mistakes, and putting my ego and pride away in search of something that could be better. It doesn’t mean giving up, being passive or submissive. It means staying strong and open to new ideas, in order to get through circumstances that will try to break you.

Positivity comes from the force push back on negativity. From the idea that one tends to give up and soon as something is about to happen. Sometimes it’s something as small as not surrendering in a video game, or more external such as not giving up on others and giving support when they need it.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always looking for meaningful connections and relationships whether professional or some form of mentorship and conversation. Whatever I can do to provide insight and value to others who may need it.

If anyone wants to reach out to me they can do so via my instagram @tkgorgonia or my website tkgorgonia.com

Specifically with video game related needs, we’re always looking for people interested in growing, currently we’re seeking 3D modelers, concept artists, and UI/UX designers.
They can follow or contact us at getslappedgame.com or follow us on instagram, tiktok, or join our discord.
