We were lucky to catch up with Tony Fuad recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I built my confidence and self-esteem through a journey of self-discovery and personal challenges. Embracing my strengths and acknowledging accomplishments, no matter how small, contributed to a positive self-perception. Overcoming obstacles fostered resilience and a belief in my capabilities. Surrounding myself with supportive individuals and learning from setbacks enhanced my sense of worth. Continuous self-improvement and setting achievable goals allowed me to witness my growth, reinforcing my confidence. Celebrating my successes, staying true to my values, and practicing self-compassion all played pivotal roles in cultivating the resilient, self-assured individual I’ve become.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a licensed educational psychologist, my role revolves around understanding and supporting the diverse needs of students, educators, and families within educational settings. I conduct assessments to identify learning disabilities, cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and emotional or behavioral issues that may impact learning. Through these evaluations, I provide tailored recommendations and interventions to optimize students’ learning experiences. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals, I develop strategies to address learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, and social-emotional needs. I offer counseling, guidance, and support to students dealing with academic, social, or emotional struggles, fostering their well-being and academic success. Additionally, I often provide guidance to educators on creating inclusive environments and implementing effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles. Ultimately, my aim as a licensed educational psychologist is to enhance the overall educational experience by advocating for the mental health, well-being, and academic achievement of all students.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Determination, adaptability, and effective communication are key qualities that contribute to my success in owning a small business. My ability to stay focused on goals, navigate challenges, and connect with stakeholders sets a solid foundation for entrepreneurial success.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
I am currently working on expanding my business. Marketing is always a challenge as my company grows, because I want to be able to help the most students possible.
