Meet Toyia Bryant

We were lucky to catch up with Toyia Bryant recently and have shared our conversation below.

Toyia, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
The source of my belief or value system and energy comes from within. I cultivate this system based on my personal life experiences, traditional, and non traditional teachings. In being focused on my internal self, I tend to reflect often. In that reflection I ponder about life’s greatest questions such as What is the meaning of life? Why was I created? In understanding the answer to these two questions I develop my character and adjust my behavior based on my self analysis and the expectations in which I have for the life that I want to experience and the legacy that I want to leave. When I conduct a self analysis and truly understand the type of life that I want, while I may digest, dissect, and absorb selected guidance by others who are designed to aid in my development, I do not fully subscribe to how others perceive me nor do I fully abide by their expectations. This is because they have designed their life based on their own interpretations and the value systems in which they have built for themselves which may or may not be aligned with mine. Taking this self focused approach has helped me during the good, bad, and indifferent times within my life. We are taught to live in communities for a myriad of reasons and benefits. However, I have found that when I am grounded with a true understanding of self and find myself in an environment where my community struggles to fully embrace me, in order to not be consumed by their rejection, I have built a sustainable foundation in which to stand.

In our podcast, Proactive is the Way, this is our focus for season 2. Season 2 is all about helping you to develop a solid foundation, principles and standards, that are aligned with and serve as the foundation of your value system. We are exploring a piece of literature titled Principles over an entire year. These are principles in which, the author, Ray Dalio developed for himself. The goal is to help you understand the importance of developing a solid value system in which you can leverage to help you make effective decisions and create success within your life. I welcome each one of you to subscribe to our podcast, Proactive is the Way, join in the conversation and share your thoughts about the topic and your life experiences. Proactive is the Way can be found on all of the major podcasting platforms.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a mom first! A title I wear proudly and it brings me the most joy! While I love walking alongside my little ones as they embark on their life’s journey I make sure that I do not neglect the passions of my heart. From my perspective it is so important that I take time to practice self love and embark upon endeavors that inspire and invigorate my inner being. In doing so will help me to have the energy and fortitude to service others. As it is said, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” As a result, I am also an entrepreneur in the Health and Wellness space, providing products and services designed to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. This is an endeavor that has been built based on my gratitude and respect for those who guided me on the right path to finding a way to better health. This business is my opportunity to pay it forward and give back by sharing our health and beauty regimen and resources that we believe will be useful for us in our personal growth and development. My goal is to provide a forum where we can share information and help one another on our journey to better health and overall wellness in a way that is proactive and supportive.

I strongly encourage you to join our loyalty program. The program is free and you will have access to all of the selected free yoga and educational classes available. In addition, I provide shipping rebates on all purchases and as discounts are offered to me from my affiliates I will pass them along to you. I hope you will find value in the tools and resources provided and enjoy being a part of the KK Cafe family.

I hope that you will continue to join me as KK Cafe grows and transitions into the next phase of our existence.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Skills or areas of knowledge will be dependent on your chosen discipline at a moment in time. However within each discipline, I believe in order to find success one must possess several key characteristics, but at the top of my list are, open-mindedness, tenacity, and adaptability. While I am still growing in the health and wellness industry I have found that these characteristics have truly helped me to embrace new knowledge and evolve at a rapid rate. I have over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and an MBA with a dual concentration in Innovation, Change, and Management and International Business. A discipline and teachings that differs from exercise science and nutrition. However, being open and receptive to learning each facet of this industry and even through failure holding steadfast and unmovable has allowed me to continue to grow and develop my business each year. In addition, being adaptable has opened my mind to pursue new endeavors and opened doors to future partnerships.

If you struggle in these areas I strongly encourage you to follow our podcast, Proactive is the Way, and check out some of our conversations on these exact characteristics. Get your popcorn and bubbly (sparkling water) ready to binge on nothing but goodness in a fun, yet enlightening manner that is sure to positively impact your mind, body, and spirit.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! We are about to embark on our 3rd year in business! It is time to expand our network. In the coming year we desire to start hosting retreats and developing more yoga and soft skill courses online. In addition, we plan to focus on our clothing line and building out our offerings within the KK Cafe Collection and our skin care line.

I would really love to collaborate in designing and executing a health and wellness retreat. It can be online or in person, but I would prefer it to be in person. If you are interested in partnering with Kinky Knots Cafe, please contact me at [email protected] or text me at 937-545-0163.
