Tracy, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I have always had a passion for natural beauty and wellness products. I started putting together my recipes around 2010. By 2016 I felt confident enough to give our body creams and other skincare goods to family and friends and got rave results.

Around this time, my husband, Scott, discovered CBD for hip and back problems, and we were both excited about the natural qualities of CBD. Considering that it is a non-addictive and non-lethal alternative to opiates and has so many uses, such as sleep, anxiety, and inflammation, adding CBD to the mix seemed like the natural move.

We moved to Colorado in November of 2017. We started Leanna Organics officially in May 2018, and we have been bringing organic, plant-based remedies infused with CBD to Colorado and the United States through our online store since.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As the head formulator and founder of the business, I think the most important quality and skill I have is making our artisan goods. I say artisan because it is an art. My products result from hundreds if not thousands of hours of trial and error and pouring love into them and the process of making them.

I’d also like to acknowledge my husband, Scott, and our daughter Tavia. Scott does marketing and sales, while Tavia does many of our pop-up markets and helps with Social Media. Having a team around you with people who have different skills is crucial. Thanks to our team, we have been able to keep lean and compete in a very competitive industry.

Lastly, mindset is most important. I talk to other business owners who only want to complain and become frustrated at the smallest inconvenience. The truth is that starting a business is hard, and you have to work your butt off and keep a positive mindset so that blessings come to you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! We are always looking for partners. We have had great success partnering with other wellness shops and healing studios. Leanna Organics is about holistic health, and for us, CBD is a piece of the equation. An important one, no doubt, because CBD helps with so many things.

However, it is just a piece, and we have partnered with other healers, coaches, yoga studios, and more to talk about and co-market events around other aspects of health, such as healing trauma, eating healthy, and exercising.
