Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trenisha Webster. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trenisha, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
I have a variety of self-care tactics that I use.
1: Hot showers. That’s the most common, however, while the shower is running lavender or Eucalyptus body wash that helps with relaxation and sleep.
2: Music or Binaural beats. Music, yes, general. Binaural beats are actually under-rated. They have helped me overcome anxiety and a mind cleanse.
3: Games help with the mental. I keep my mind active and challenged by playing Sudoku, solitaire and word puzzles.
Each tactic has worked for me, especially with my company. Helps me focus more and generate new ideas and/or products
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Trenisha Webster. I am the owner of T-Marie Innovations, LLC which is a Business Development & Credit Consultant. I launched my company in January of 2016 with a life goal of using my experience and multiple degrees. In the beginning stages, I analyzed my skillset, incorporated everything I learned about business management, organized a to-do list, and began my blueprint.
I was inspired by the fear of not knowing if employment was secure due to the economy or due to the company not having any full-time open positions. I was going through a financial struggle and wanted to give up. My children wouldn’t let me. They were my motivation to keep going. Within 3 months, I became a certified business, launched my website, and recvd my first client from the Mercy Medical Center.
My services include: Business Development, Business Coaching, Marketing materials, Entrepreneurship beginner’s services, certified professional resumes, tax preparation, building business credit, and personal credit services. I have different packages to choose from that meets the budget needs for clients.
My company is special, because I give a detailed consultation, create a step-by-step program, research any information pertaining to your career, & provide excellent experience by improving your entrepreneurship career goals. I am certified in credit laws & strategies for optimizing consumer credit rights when dealing with CRAs & lenders. I believe in quality, innovation, simplicity, efficiency, integrity, & idealism.
My future goals for the business are owning my own office building (expanding). I would like to create a workshop for high school students to learn the basics of credit, finance, resume writing, and entrepreneurship. Another workshop (that I am currently working on) is to help people learn more about credit. I’m hoping to have the workshop ready later this year. Another goal is to expand my brand more on YouTube. I’m working on a series where I interview other business owners, discuss their line of business, and learn more about them.
One thing I would want people to know about my business that people may not know about is that T-Marie Innovations is a one-stop shop for those who are looking for professional resumes to starting their own line of business to building credit (business and personal). I have broken the barrier of creating projects, being hands-on with clients and working with a widespread of clientele in all regions nationally.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most effective way for me was utilizing social media. I have used Facebook (mainly), Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. I promote daily and numerous times a day by creating my own graphics and sharing on other pages to create more awareness about the business.
I rebrand my business annually which keeps people vested into your line of business. I create and promote new products semi-annually based off business importance such as business credit. Being a one-stop shop for people keeps you ahead of competition especially when a client can come to you for everything for their business and personal needs.
I stay focused by meditation, organization, and scheduling. I write everything down on a calendar, my tasks (to-do lists) in a notebook, and schedule clients in hour increments.
My advice I would give is if you have a dream to pursue entrepreneurship, do it. Yes, it cost money to begin, however, it will be the best move you make because it’s your dream coming to life. Always write down what you want and need. It helps with organization so that you can build your business effectively.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Music. Listening to music relaxes my brain and my body. I work better when I’m listening to music. Something about silence doesn’t help me. I come up with the greatest ideas for my business using music.
Another thing I do is meditate by listening to binaural beats for five minutes a day while breathing in eucalyptus essential oil. It helps with relaxation physically and mentally.
Writing is another source of decompressing. Writing helps me with ideas and new books I will work on in the future. In my personal library, poetry enhances my creative juices for writing. I’m able to visualize the idea, write it, and then later, promote it.
