We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trina Quirindongo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trina below.
Trina, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Through life we are faced with multiple hurdles. At each stage we are challenged to provide, develop and produce more. Imposter syndrome I’ve learned is based on limitations I’ve set on myself. I overcame imposter syndrome by understanding that my vision of who I aspire to be is worthy of me living out unapologetically and without the fear or the criticism because the criticism will always be there.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m excited to announce that I currently hold the title of Ms. Capitol Hill. Using this platform I will address suicide stigmas, signs and solutions and why focusing on your mental health is the foundation to the prevention of suicide. I’m a mother to my 10 year old daughter. We wrote our first book Mommy and Me Take Flight when she was 6 years old. We plan to launch our second book in 2024! My passion is to serve the community and give back. I’ve served in the United Stated Air Force since 2017. Education has always been important to me as a two-time HBCU (Bowie State- Howard University) graduate I’ve gained so much knowledge. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1)Resilience
2) Managerial
3)Entrepreneurship The saying is true entrepreneurship isn’t met for everyone. However, the mentality of one is crucial. It’s important to stay innovative in how you approach your next big move. When trouble comes you’ll have to dig deep to pull your strength to move forward.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
“The subtle art of not giving a f***” It may not be your fault that you are in your situation but it’s your responsibility to do something about it. You are responsible for your life.
