Meet Tylah ‘The Queen Of Fashion’ Mack

We were lucky to catch up with Tylah ‘The Queen Of Fashion’ Mack recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tylah ‘The Queen, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I knew what my purpose was from the moment I was 6 years old (as far as I remember). I used to use my sister; who was 3 at the time, as a model for my paper shirts & skirts. I even remember vividly using my moms foot to make a paper shoe and I’d color and draw on the papers to make them look like different designs & different fabrics. Of course that didn’t pan out too well because my mother was in school at the time & I’d use her printing paper (the plain white) so when it became time for her to complete/ print her assignments the papers she needed turned into my Fashion Designs.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Currently, I am in the business of expanding Lovlé Designs, LLC. For many of you that don’t know, Lovlé Designs, LLC is a Clothing brand that specializes in Couture Construction. Meaning that each design you see or have seen from us is Authentic & ‘One Of A Kind’. We are in the works of looking to partner with manufacturing companies to expand brand to a more economical demographic whereas only constructing the designs individually but to a vast majority of the population, could potentially equate to the client / customer anticipating.

The most exciting part of my profession is the smiles on my clients faces & how comfortable they feel wearing the hand crafted art. Seeing that, really shows me that I’ve found my purpose and to keep gifting the gift of not only art, but love.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’d have to say the three main qualities that have helped me continue on my journey are (one) determination; without being determined or having your mind set on a particular goal, you’ll loose the fight to want to continue through (to) your purpose. Be stern in your decisions! (Two) Being poised; when conducting yourself in different environments, it’s important to know when to present yourself at your best or it could be ie. Some people have even used the term multifaceted because of how I can display myself in different settings with no difficulty. (Three) my area of knowledge with not only my customer service expertise but also, the skills that I’ve acquired since a child has taken me super far with pleasing people by not only listening but visualizing to make their dreams come to life & making them feel more confident than before.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
Unfortunately, yes. There is a current obscle that is making me take a back seat to my own life, seems like. Recently I was involved with a partner who was abusive. A certain cause of events led to me loosing vision in my right eye henceforth, hindering me to prevail in areas that I was once strong in. Taking that step back, with the profession I am in (Fashion Design) is a major set back. In the beginning it was so heartbreaking and traumatizing because you don’t want this to be your new reality, but you understand that sometimes, the strongest soldiers have the toughest battles. The journey of healing has showed me I’m stronger than I could’ve ever imagine. Thinking back to a post I saw recently that said “12 year old me would think that adult me is so cool” & regardless of the fight I’m fighting, I honestly believe that. I’ve never been a person to allow my pain to overshadow my destiny, don’t get me wrong I have had days where I’ve cried so heavily and thought that I couldn’t continue & that’s okay, it’s always okay to cry, just as long as you understand you have a purpose. The fact that I had so much trial and error along with growth & development with this journey shows me I’m living in my purpose. I could’ve died that day, but God spared me to help me understand sometimes you have to get knocked down to be built right back up. I’m currently healing and the designs I’ve created through this obstacle has been even better than before. A friend told me recently after a Zoechella Verzuz Fashion Show I did in Atlanta, he said “Understand you executed 8 designs with one eye, others would’ve cracked under pressure or gave up completely & you kept going KNOWING your circumstances”. I’m sad that this is a journey I had to take, but I’m healing & I think I was probably the only one strong enough to endure a challenge like this to show character. Anger has subsided & forgiveness was bestowed.
