We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tyler Campbell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tyler, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I find my purpose through my kids and my desire to give them a better life.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What I focus on professionally is to educate people through comedy. If we can take some of the darker unknown topics and bring light to them while teaching someone about what went wrong in the world in a fun way, I feel like I have done my job. The podcast makes me feel like I have done something more than just be a welder, a father, and a husband. It gives me a platform. A call to madness I feel like has perfected what I was trying to do with Men of Misfortune.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
A willingness to learn and grow, a drive to see that growth become something more than an internal destination, and the determination to make a change. I had to hit rock bottom to figure out what I wanted in life and have a clear understanding of how to do it. I’m not suggesting to do that but it definitely helped shape and mold me as the person I am today. Before my fall from grace, I didn’t have a drive or want to grow. I was happy with whatever life gave me. Don’t give up and keep trying. Never settle for anything less than what you want. Keep pushing.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking for other shows, people of interest, people that have knowledge or a willingness to learn on A call to madness. It makes my content better when I don’t know something and have the ability to understand and ask questions. If you love comedy, dark topics, personal stories, a call to madness podcast is the podcast for you. Email us at acalltomadness@gmail.com
