We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vera Nelson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Vera with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I was raised with an immigrant mother who became a widow at the age of 38. Her tenacity, faith, and determination painted a picture of hope, and dreams come true. Watching her work two jobs to raise my brother and me in the United States was a honor to witness. I have and had no reason to complain. I was born in this country. If she could do, so could I. There is nothing better in life than witnessing the person you love most on this plant thrive and make their dreams come true for themselves and their family. Work ethic is everything. You either do it, or. you don’t. It keeps you healthy in every aspect of life.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hythe is a woman owned brokerage focused on the care and commitment to clients whether first time home buyers, to savvy investors. Selling mobile homes to mansions. Shelter is fundamental to all. Being in the real estate space for almost 30 years caused me to reflect on how I could give back and add to the industry that has given me so much joy and satisfaction. I realized change was in order. Genuine care, expertise, wisdom, knowledge, and experience propelled me to start this venture for amazing folks in our community. Hythe stands for safe haven. We strive to endeavor and live up to that meaning every day. Every agent under the Hythe umbrella has the freedom and opportunity to Help their clients to the maximum . Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The love of real estate is a powerful force. For the newbies, it’s important to be trained well. Mentored well. Learn the business well. There are aps and tools for everything one needs. But knowing the business gives. you confidence. Knowing YOU gives you confidence. It is important to be mentored well. Passion, commitment, and work ethic are important for success. Your license is everything. Once accomplished, you are an expert. Become the expert in the area of real estate that makes your heart chime.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
