Meet Veronica Cisneros

We recently connected with Veronica Cisneros and have shared our conversation below.

Veronica, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

In my role as a therapist, I’ve encountered numerous women who share a common struggle with self-identity. They yearn for more in life but often grapple with feelings of undeservingness. Many feel compelled to prioritize the needs of their husbands and children before investing in their own well-being. It became clear to me that these women were searching for a formula to master the intricacies of motherhood, marriage, and business. By guiding them outside their comfort zones and assisting in the exploration of their identities beyond societal roles, I discovered my purpose – to empower and guide women towards becoming unapologetically themselves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Owning a group private practice is not just a profession for me; it’s a calling to empower high-achieving women who are ready for more. At Outside The Norm Counseling, we go beyond conventional therapy. We’re on a mission to guide you outside your comfort zones and lead you on a transformative journey to the life you truly desire.

I take immense pride in this work because it’s born out of my own search for guidance. When I couldn’t find what I needed, I turned to my professors and those who entered my life as teachers, shaping me into who I am today. Now, I’m here to be that guiding force for you.

What excites me most is working with individuals committed to the hard work of change, those who yearn for a life-altering transformation. Witnessing the spark of hope and inspiration in my clients is the fuel that propels me forward. My team shares this passion and is dedicated to serving our community while providing unwavering support and care to every client who walks through our doors. Join us on this empowering journey, where your aspirations meet action, and change becomes not just a possibility but a reality.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three key qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge have been instrumental in my growth. First and foremost, resilience has played a pivotal role. The ability to bounce back from challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties has allowed me to navigate the unpredictable nature of this field.

Secondly, empathy has been a cornerstone in my interactions with clients. Understanding their perspectives, feelings, and struggles has not only deepened my connection with them but has also been crucial in providing effective support.

Lastly, continuous learning has been a driving force. I had to be comfortable with being a student, which required a great amount of vulnerability. This has really helped me thrive not only as an entrepreneur but also as a Mother and wife.

For those embarking on their journey, my advice is to embrace resilience. Understand that challenges are inevitable, but your ability to overcome them defines your success. Cultivate empathy, as it forms the basis of meaningful connections with clients. Strive to see the world through their eyes, fostering a therapeutic alliance built on trust.

Finally, commit to a lifelong journey of learning. Stay curious, attend workshops, read voraciously, and seek mentorship. The field of therapy is dynamic, and your commitment to staying informed ensures that you provide the best possible care to those who rely on you.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
One of the ongoing challenges I’m currently grappling with is the constant pursuit of more time. I’ve come to recognize the high expectations I set for myself, and at times, how detrimental it can be to my well-being. There’s this tendency to place an immense amount of pressure on myself, and I’ve come to the realization that some of these expectations are simply not humanly possible.

In my efforts to address this, I’m actively working on letting go. I’m challenging the notion that everything needs to be treated as an emergency, and I’m becoming more intentional with how I allocate my time. It’s a shift from feeling like I’m constantly in a rat race to a place where I am deliberate about my time and its alignment with my well-being. It’s an ongoing journey, but the awareness and commitment to change are steps in the right direction.
