We were lucky to catch up with Vincent Manzullo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vincent , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through failure. Through failures in life, you get to know yourself more and understand your purpose. Failing allows for you to readjust and sharpen your skillset. Failure also can lead to confidence as you can only go up from failing. You cannot be afraid to fail in any facet of life. Failure allows for repetition and repetition creates experience. Experience cannot be microwaved and takes time to cultivate.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Musical Artist that focuses on Hip/Hop with aim to bring awareness of social injustice to society. I create multidimensional work that is lyrically driven. I value the ability to reach all people and to preach unity. I also aim to influence other Musicians to not feel pressure to conform and to be themselves. As we live in a world that is content driven, remaining true to yourself becomes harder and harder.
My latest release is a single entitled “Erase The Bullets” featuring G. Love & Special Sauce.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Belief 2. Persistence
3. Objectivity / Humbleness
The only person that needs to believe in you is yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, it will be noticed by the universe. As you will fail and find troubles in your journey, you must have persistence to continue with what you believe in.
Belief without persistence will leave emptiness. Persistence is key to reaching any form of goals that you set for yourself along the way. Persistence is a skill that is always being shaped throughout your personal journey.
If you do not remain objective and humble, you will not find peace when navigating the field. It is most important to remain grounded and treat yourself/others will professional respect. By doing so, you will foster relationships that are sustainable.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
You have to try to consistently remind yourself that the journey is gradual and it’s a process. You also have to set goals for yourself along the way. Goals can come in different shapes and sizes but what is important is developing personal expectations that align with your goals. If you truly believe in your purpose, you must allow it to develop with authenticity and patience. Everyone has a different path to success and each path is unique. Do your best not to compare paths and focus on the process.
