We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vivian Lambert a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vivian, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
I feel lucky that I can currently create my own schedule to allow spaciousness in my day for self care, as the daily integration feels essential for my well being. Although the following practices seem like they may take a long time, they don’t have to. Sometimes, I just take a few moments with each. If I want to leave out, add, or take less or more time with something, I’m gentle with myself and allow for flexibility, inspiration, and creativity. I wake up with the sun and clean my mouth so it’s fresh and clear after detoxing overnight. I apply herbal oil over my whole body, sending love and care to each part and then take a hot shower to allow the herbs and oil to sink in deeply. This helps my skin feel soft and protected physically and energetically for the day ahead. I make sure to have three nourishing meals at regular times plus a healthy snack mid morning and mid afternoon. This allows my body to feel safe, nurtured and grounded. I hydrate with filtered mineral water and herbal teas. I meditate in the morning and evening, usually sitting at my altar, reminding myself of the connection to the whole, the wider perspective, the inner quiet. I make sure to soak up nature every day and lay in the sunshine as much as possible. Daily self care supports my ability to give my best to those around me, whether to clients, family, or friends.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I work in person and virtually, offering Ayurvedic Health Consults, Bodywork, Herbal Products, and Pelvic Health Steam Consults. I love integrating these modalities and giving my clients full spectrum guidance on their healing path. Ayurvedic consults support the foundation of a person’s unique constitution and teaches how to balance through food therapy, herbs, lifestyle, and environment. My bodywork integrates sound therapy, herbal oil, and essence attunement so that the physical and energetic body feel vital and whole. My herbal products are made from organic ingredients and many local herbs and support self care practices and nurturing for the whole body. And my Pelvic health steam consults offer an ancient and powerful way to connect to the root, release trauma, balance hormones, support pelvic health, replenish cycles, and provide sexual healing.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learning Ayurveda, Growing a relationship to nature, Honest communication. Ayurveda taught me how to nurture and support myself through body and environmental awareness so that I can sink into my own healing and help others do the same. I recommend people learn Ayurveda or another holistic practice that incorporates deep care for the self and others.
Since I was young, resting in and communing with nature has been an important part of my life. I grew up in rural Maine on a little organic farm with access to abundant trails, lakes, and woods. I enjoyed helping my parents care for the land we resided on and near, and always felt held by the plants and trees. I continue to revel in connecting to nature wherever I am, relishing in the joy, calm, and inspiration I receive. Nurturing this relationship with respect and care is an important part of being human, and I encourage everyone to make steps on this path. Taking herbal classes, learning earth skills, or just spending quiet time in Nature are some of my favorite ways to do this..
Growing up, my parents instilled the importance of open and honest communication, and I have continued to develop the practice on my own. Journaling, sitting with and being curious about the feelings in my body, dreamwork, and Emotional Freedom Technique/ EFT or tapping have all been supportive for my process in learning to communicate openly and honestly with both myself and others.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is ready to show up clearly and consistently on their healing path. They are willing to make the changes they need to embody their wellness and true essence. My ideal clients are ready to release what’s not serving them, and explore the depths of their being and wholeness. They understand the importance of a holistic approach to support mind, body, and spirit and enjoy integrating wholesome food therapy, loving self care practices, rejuvenating lifestyle routines, and nourishing herbals to support their journey.
