Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vladimir Chopine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Vladimir, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
In communicating with other creators, don’t stop creating and expressing new ideas. The more you create, the more ideas you will get. It’s like static electricity: more movement creates a higher charge.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
From a young age, I stumbled upon my love for art. It was a world that opened up early for me, letting me dive into the wonders of stop-motion animation, sketching, and photography. Growing up without much money meant we couldn’t really buy art supplies. So, I had to get creative with whatever I could find around me, like bits of wire and cheap clay.
I didn’t stop there; I went on to explore the world of filmmaking and classic drawing. It was a bit of a surprise to see not many kids were into this stuff. This turned out to be a blessing, as it gave me the chance to work closely with some incredibly talented folks—film directors, camera people, and animators.
But then came the tough part, keeping at it. Life has a way of speeding up, filling our days with responsibilities that can drown out our creative voices. Finding that delicate balance between everyday life and the urge to create is one of the biggest challenges. Yet, somehow, I’ve managed to keep that creative flame alive.
My biggest dream? To share this burning passion of mine with others and, hopefully, make the world a bit brighter, focusing more on creating than tearing down. I’ve been sharing what I know online through videos and connecting with people face-to-face in meetups. Through all of this, my story is a simple one: it’s about holding on to that creative spark, even when life tries to snuff it out, and believing in the power of creativity to change the world, one piece of art at a time.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Persistence Don’t be shy about sharing your creativity.
Embrace what you fear and what you don’t know.
Find artists who share your passion, always learn, and be open to constructive criticism, only people who care will receive constructive criticism, and those who don’t care about you will ignore your mistakes.
Always create, even when you feel you don’t want to, push forward.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination by Neal Gabler I had wrong presumptions about Walt Disney, and this book changed my understanding of him as well, as how much it takes to succeed.
