Meet Wendi Wray

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Wendi Wray a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Wendi, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My confidence started when I started to trust in God. Trusting He’s got my back no matter what. It took off so much weight off my shoulders and expectation level went down. I was willing to fail and to focus on who I am as a leader. Truly believing on my self concept and value I offer.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Today, Wendi is a woman of God, wife, mama of 3, Army Veteran, and dedicated to helping busy military women create balance in their lives without sacrificing their emotional well-being.

She started serving in the military at age 17. Serving is what she knows and loves to do. Her military career was just the beginning of helping military women master their emotional health and leading them to a happier and more fulfilling life.

Wendi is a former Army Military Officer that was obsessed with her career and avoiding her emotional pain by over-working. She learned how to manage her mind through coaching and learned to overcome emotional suffering. Ultimately, coaching has improved her relationships, contribution as a female leader, and transform her work-life balance.

From that experience, she figured out how to overcome burnout and start showing up intentionally. That process is the foundation of her coaching program.

Wendi wants to encourage and empower women to lead with a clear mind while still having enough time to focus on their faith, family, career, personal life with less stress and overwhelm.

Wendi believes women can perform at the highest level– while still being a present, thoughtful wifey and mama.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Structure and organization, training and leadership. I encourage anyone that is starting off to focus on being organized in their career field. Organization is the stepping stone for ultimate success.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed I take a pause and ask myself what is going through my mind. What am I worried about? Truly answer the questions. Once you do that then review your answers and ask what is in my control and what isn’t. For anything in your control then take ownership and give yourself grace because you care. Take a deep breathe and remind yourself it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and you are in control on how you want to feel after that moment.
