Meet Winnie V

We were lucky to catch up with Winnie V recently and have shared our conversation below.

Winnie, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
It’s inspired by the generosity and kindness that I’ve received from others. A small act of kindness can go a long way and leave a lasting impression, which is why generosity in any form, whether it’s giving a compliment, holding the door, or smiling at someone matters. James Keller’s quote is a perfect example of this, he states, “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” It is a powerful reminder that giving to others doesn’t deplete us, it keeps the kindness alive.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the founder and creator behind Her Digital Coffee. It’s an online space that dives into a variety of lifestyle topics that spark and encourage meaningful conversations. Creating this website has allowed my work to reach readers from around the world. It continues to open doors for me that gives me the opportunity to work with brands that I love, as well as create content for other creators. It’s a fun and rewarding experience, and it’s very fulfilling to see your work featured on other websites and social media platforms.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Be patient, receptive, and measure your success. Great ideas come to life one step at a time, so it’s important to practice patience, be receptive to new ideas, and record your highs and lows so you can pinpoint areas that are working and areas that require more attention. If you create a simple system that you can stick to, you have more time to focus on the task at hand.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
In the past 12 months, I’ve prioritized living a slower paced lifestyle. It’s my biggest area of improvement and I feel much more present in everything I do. It’s allowed me to nurture every step I take, rather than trying to run a whole marathon at once. When we move too fast, we’re not allowing ourselves to learn and grow at a pace that works for us. You’re allowed to take your time, enjoy the process, and live in the moment before moving on to the next thing. As Lao Tzu once said, “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
