Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yaya Vega . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Yaya , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My entire family but especially my parents inspire my work ethic every day. I have always been taught that the one true way to be successful at anything is hard work. Seeing how hard every single one of my family members work every day fuels me to keep working at all my goals to do my part and be successful for them.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a licensed esthetician specializing in eyelash extensions. I have been lashing since 2018 and can truly say I have been blessed to see my hard work evolve right before my eyes. My lash journey has been a journey to say the least, from learning trying to find to groove, to a global pandemic, to practicing/learning and becoming the lash artist I am today. I love making people feel extra confident and beautiful! Lashing is not only a service that enhances your look but also the best therapy/lash nap/self care time we all love!
I am grateful to all my lash clients who have trusted and stayed with me through the years.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I would recommend to really research classes you are interested in taking and what your state board requires to perform the service you are interested in before jumping in to some classes like I did. Some investments can really help mold and change your business for the better but also some aren’t as necessary as advertised I always trust my state board regulations first.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents have always and STILL support every single thing I do and for that I will always be grateful. Their support has helped me believe in myself even when I thought I couldn’t and knowing they are always by my side only fuels me to continue to try my best to make them proud and be able to be the same support for them one day.
