We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yolanda Gonzales a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Yolanda , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Practicing my faith in God, having goals, being focused, determined, watching personal development videos clips, listening to my Mom and boyfriend.
Having a good support system in your life helps you stay motivated. My Mom, Yolanda Lizaola Pulido encourages me and so does my boyfriend, Luis Guillen.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, Special FX Artist, Model and Brand Ambassador.
The most exciting part about my career, is having fun, meeting diverse people, learning from others Artist’s and growing in my career path.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Believing in my self, having confidence, staying focused, motivated, having goals and staying determined. Being able to multitask, having a steady hand, educating myself on beauty, has helped gain more experience, along with practice, over time.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My Mom, my sister and my boyfriend has. My Mom has always taught me to keep pushing forward, my sister, encourages me in anything I do in my life and my boyfriend supports me in everything that I do in my life.
The quality that my Mom, sister and my boyfriend share, is their wisdom. My boyfriend has a big heart, generous and smart. Their wisdom and and my boyfriend’s generosity has been helpful to me. I learned that educated our selves is good, to prosper in life.
