Meet YONSON

We recently connected with YONSON and have shared our conversation below.

YONSON, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
Honestly, my optimism comes from this simple belief I have: if you’re dedicated and persistent, you can achieve almost anything. I’ve seen it play out in my own life. When I stick with something, even when it’s tough, I start to see results. That’s what keeps me going and why I stay positive, because I know if I put in the work, things will eventually fall into place.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Yoni Sonis aka YONSON, I’m a self taught digital artist based out of Miami Florida. My work explores the theme of human connection in a digital realm, often introducing relevance to abstract compositions and surreal environments. I’ve been fortunate to work with clients such as Lacoste, Syndey Opera House, NBC Universal, Sony Music, and many more.

Jumping into a career of creating art for clients happened accidently. I am really into music and wanted to find a way to go to music festivals for free. So I would reach out to musicians/DJ’s from the festival poster I wanted to go to, and offer my art services for that show in exchange for a ticket. At first, I had a lot of read messages with no replies until techno legend Dubfire gave me a chance and things just snowballed from there. Fast forward 4 years, I now have my own 3D animation studio. We tackle all type of client projects from stage visuals, cover arts, music videos, to product ads, digital campaigns, and animations.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say persistence, creativity, and adaptability have been the biggest game changers for me.

Persistence, because there are always challenges, whether it’s dealing with technical issues or navigating tricky client relationships. Sticking with it, even when it’s frustrating, is key.

Creativity is what keeps things exciting and sets your work apart. Whether it’s in art, design, or problem-solving, thinking outside the box can lead to some amazing opportunities.

And lastly, adaptability has been crucial. Things change—whether it’s tech, trends, or even personal work—and being able to adjust quickly has made a huge difference for me.

For anyone just starting out, my advice would be: don’t be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. Keep pushing your creative boundaries, and stay flexible. The more you practice these things, the more natural they’ll feel.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Definitely! I’d love to collaborate with Miami-based artists or companies that are looking to add a creative edge to their projects. Whether it’s bringing unique visuals to life or working on innovative ideas, I’m always excited to team up with people who are passionate about what they do.
